Our team comprises people with a range of skills: cultural organisers and managers, film producers, critics and film scholars. Since 2012, we have been screening non-commercial feature films, thought-provoking documentaries and exceptional animated films. We bring cinema to local communities by organising accessible and inclusive events and open-air screenings.

The Wrocław Film Foundation was established in 2012 out of a need to bring film culture closer to people. From the outset, we were interested not only in what was on screen, but also in how and where it met its audience. Instead of sticking to the obvious venues and formats, we focused on collaboration, accessibility and our own pace of work. Over time, we developed further activities around film events: educational, social and local. We increasingly ventured beyond major cities and sought out audiences where cinema rarely reaches. Today, this remains important to us – we want to respond to real needs, build relationships and treat cinema as a meeting point.

We create film projects and events, but the atmosphere behind them is just as important to us. It is through these that we build an audience that wants to watch, discuss and keep coming back to us. We support young filmmakers at the start of their careers and show audiences ambitious, non-commercial cinema – without aloofness, without pretension. Our key projects – the Spektrum Film Festival in Świdnica, Polish Cinema for Beginners and the MIASTOmovie the City and Architecture Film Festival – have become a permanent fixture in the cultural landscape of Wrocław and Lower Silesia. We operate thanks to the support of public institutions and partners from across Poland – and the trust that enables us to continue our work.
